Adhunik Power and Natural Resources Limited (APNRL) has entered into an MoU with the Government of Jharkhand to set up a 1,080 MW coal-based thermal power plant. As a first step towards this, the Company is implementing a 540 MW (2 x 270) power plant at villages Palampur and Srirampur, district Sareikela Kharsawan.
The Company has engaged M/s Development Consultants Private Limited (DCPL), Kolkata, as Consulting Engineers, for assisting it in finalising placement of orders for plant and machinery and detailed designing of the project including advisory on civil construction and plant erection. The fuel linkage of the power station will be from captive Ganeshpur coal block, which has been allotted to APNRL and Tata Steel on a 50:50 JV basis.
The Company has also applied for tapering coal linkage (to take care of the coal requirements till the captive mine is operational) for 1,080 MW, out of which the linkage for 270 MW has been received and the balance will be delivered in due course of time. The Company proposes to execute the project on a split package basis and has placed the order for the BTG package contract with BHEL for the entire 540 MW. The BOP will be constructed with contracts to various parties.
The company is putting in place an internal team with vast experience in power plant construction in order to ensure timely completion and coordination of project execution. Plans are firmly in place to set up two more power plants each of 1,320 MW capacity (2 x 660) at Champa in Chhattisgarh and Kahelgaon in Bhagalpur district of Bihar. |
